DHEA Gel is a compounded vaginal form of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). It is intended for local use in vaginal tissues and may be prescribed to help support vaginal health and comfort during perimenopause or menopause.
DHEA may be used to help address symptoms associated with menopause, including discomfort related to changes in vaginal tissues. Your Ivím provider will consider your symptoms, health history, and treatment goals when determining whether DHEA is appropriate for you.
DHEA Gel is administered locally within the vagina using a specialized applicator. Use it exactly as prescribed by your Ivím provider and follow the instructions provided with your individualized treatment plan.
Ivím’s Women’s Hormone Health treatment program provides individualized care for women navigating hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause. Depending on your symptoms and health history, your provider may prescribe estradiol, progesterone, DHEA, or other therapies as part of a coordinated care plan that can be adjusted over time.
Vaginal DHEA may not be appropriate if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a known allergy to DHEA or an ingredient in the formulation. Patients with a history of hormone-sensitive cancers should discuss the potential risks and benefits with their provider before starting treatment.
